Goals
More conversions from the campaign that matters most
The company brought its Google Ads account onto Maintouch to get more out of paid search without adding headcount. Branded search was the first priority: it carries their highest-value campaign, and every point of efficiency there compounds.
Challenge
A high-value campaign that was underperforming
Branded search should be the most efficient spend in an account. Here, the highest-value branded campaign was leaving conversions on the table and paying too much for each one.
Solution
Maintouch found the problem on day 1 and set up the test
Once the account was connected, Maintouch diagnosed what was holding the campaign back on day 1 and set up an A/B/C test: the original campaign against two challenger variants. The Maintouch team worked alongside the company to review the plan and get the test live.
From there, Maintouch kept watch on every arm of the test. Both challengers outperformed the original.
Outcome
One variant won on efficiency, the other showed where to expand
The winning variant cut CPA by 44%, lifted conversion rate by 109%, and grew conversions by 167%. CPC rose a modest 19%, a small trade that the conversion gains far outweighed.
The second variant had the highest CTR of the test and a 92% top of page impression share, but produced no conversions, so it was paused. Its traffic still paid off: it surfaced new geo signals pointing to the markets worth doubling down on next, which now feed into how the account is optimized going forward.
